Digital Asset Expands Executive Team

Fintech industry veteran Shane Akeroyd joins Digital Asset as President to help drive strategic initiatives and grow the company’s customer base

Digital Asset, a software and services provider that helps enterprises build economic value through interconnected networks, today announced Shane Akeroyd, formerly of IHS Markit, has joined the company’s executive team in the newly created position of President.

In this role, Shane will focus on developing and maintaining senior customer relationships and driving new business opportunities with large enterprise customers. With his extensive experience helping customers solve business-critical challenges, Shane will also provide guidance on market dynamics and the opportunities for enterprise customers to capitalize on the potential of blockchain technologies. As President, Shane will have a global remit, and will be based in Asia to provide local leadership to Digital Asset’s growing team in the region.

Shane joins Digital Asset from IHS Markit where he spent 15 years in leadership, driving account management programs globally and leading regional teams across Asia Pacific. He brings over 25 years of global client management experience to this newly created position at Digital Asset. Prior to IHS Markit, Shane worked in senior level positions at RBC Capital Markets where he was head of global debt markets distribution and a member of the executive management team. He has also held senior level roles at TD Securities, including vice chair, head of capital market sales for Europe, Asia, and Australia and with Bear Stearns as a managing director. Shane began his career at Bank of America, eventually taking on the role of vice president of derivative sales. He holds a BSc (Honors) in Economics from University College London.
