Webinar replay: Asset Tokenization Done Right

author by Digital Asset August 3, 2022

Digital Asset recently hosted a webinar focused on asset tokenization and the ways in which blockchain technology-based tokenization use cases enable enterprises to enter new markets and grow their competitive edge. The lively panelist discussion featured Eric Saraniecki, Co-Founder & Head of Strategic Initiatives at Digital Asset; Barnaby Nelson, CEO at The ValueExchange; and Glenton Davis, Global Head of Strategic Partnerships at Cboe.

The panel took a close look at new platforms that support the tokenization of new and traditional asset types and the benefits users are seeing from building innovative, tokenization-based solutions. They touched on the legacy IT challenges to adoption in financial markets that are slowing innovation, including repetitive actions across different platforms, difficulties posed by a range of asset lifecycle events and owners, challenges modeling shared workflows and automated multi-party workflow, and strict security and privacy standards.

They also discussed how tokenization can serve as a low-risk entry point that enables new market opportunities by providing a step change in efficiency to legacy systems, stronger risk management with lifecycle actions fully embedded onto the asset, faster matching of buyers and sellers, quicker settlements and increased liquidity, and expanded investor access to digital assets. The webinar looks at how Digital Asset’s core technology, Daml, enables the modeling of the complete lifecycle of regulated and complex financial products, capturing approval workflows, term sheet creation, allocation, issuance, settlement, custody, secondary trading, and lifecycle events management.

Daml provides generic asset model building blocks enabling the rapid and accurate model of any type of assets, including equities (stocks), fixed income (bonds), structured products, private equity, commodities, complex derivatives, carbon credits, or even central bank digital currencies (CDBC). With Daml, a structural representation of  cash flows, events, and rights and obligations of the complete ecosystem of participants around the asset enables complete modeling of the functionality of the asset on chain.

Watch the webinar replay below to understand the platforms that are supporting the tokenization of traditional and new asset types, including a showcase of the basic workflows that any tokenization program needs to implement.
